But perhaps Seattle's best fireworks story is that of T.G. Hitt and his factory that overlooked the Rainier Valley.
Opened in 1905, the British chemist built Hitt Fireworks Co. into the largest fireworks maker on the West Coast at one point. Hollywood came calling for his talents, and Hitt designed the incendiary set piece that portrayed Atlant burning in "Gone With the Wind."
