KARACHI: Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan telephoned President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani over premier's remarks about division of Hyderabad Ditrict.
Gilani assured him that no decision in this regard would be taken without taking allies into confidence.
PM Gilani today termed as flawed the decision of dividing Hyderabad district and described it as detrimental to the interests of the citizens of the city.
He was addressing the workers of Pakistan People's Party from Hyderabad Division here.
Meanwhile, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has reacted strongly to the statement.
MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari reacted by saying, "We are not being treated as partners (of the government) but as opponents."
He said MQM will not accept any decision to restore previous status of Hyderabad as a single district. "Any such decision will trigger public protest," he warned.
